My labors-Weekend

Well, we got back from camping. Everything and everyone- fine. No bears, mice or tragedies. Just chipmunks, fishing, eating and fun. Even the weather was BEAUTIFUL!!! only one rain. no biggie.

We arrived a bit earlier than everyone else, so we could get a nice spot. Last year- we had a tent trailer, this year--just a tent...no trailer. So we had to find a rock-less spot (that is hard to do) for our 10 person tent. i know, it is a monster, but everyone fits--so no complaints.
On our way up:

Moose

Lovely views from the car.

While waiting the kids got the crockette set out...that was kind of a weird thing to pack, but they did. They had fun with it. what a surprise.

We went on a walk around the lake Sunday afternoon. Very rocky, but fun stuff. My right leg is apparently the balencer of the body or pricarious rocks. Didn't know that until monday. :)

See the kids? all the way over there? They of course ran away from us and were first to the other side of the lake. speedsters.
MISC. stuff:
Leaving the kids on Turtle rock. don't worry, he didn't row away and they had life jackets on.
Look out rock. they went paint ball shooting and sling shot shootting. hee hee
Jarom found a bunch of 'stuff' and made this man. They are posing together.
I took an outdoor shower!!!! LOVE IT!! Want one at my own home....sort of. If you have a chance, just do it. Fun stuff i tell ya.
Eliza, trying her hand at making fire wood.
BIRTHDAY:
Jarom hit the # 9 while camping. YAY for him!!! He is such a joy to have around. A good helper (mostly to his dad). Loves tools, making things, and wrestling. His golf game will get better with a few new clubs he got from his dad. My present you ask? I gave the boy 2 rolls of Packing tape. Clear stuff. Don't go rolling your eyes at me. He loves this stuff!! He makes homes for dudes with boxes (it is now 3 feet tall by 3 feet wide) and furniture with anything else he can tape together. It is a constant fight for tape around here. He got his own. Oh, and i got him some art pencils + charcoal to work with. I am not too mean.
Here he is with a present from Julie. Some pudding. Loves it, he does!!!
Great stuff for on the spot gift.
We are back to the grindstone. Yuck. School, work, Laundry and un-packing.
Oh, i did get one block done + a bunch of another one done. I will share tomorrow. No pics yet.
pst.. if you make any of those FREEBIES load them onto the Flickr group if you would. Even if it was a long time ago. Share it up gals.
pst, pst... did you see the 1st house stitchery? go on over and take a look. love it! thanks for sharing.

12 years old

that is what the daughter Jerika is today.....12! She is really quite excited about this age. She gets to become a young woman.

I took her shopping yesterday and she picked out a few new dresses, some fingernail polish for just her, and then we went and got our hair cut together. It was kind of nice. Just us two.

She is off playing golf by herself with the honey. Fun!!

i am cooking some cupcakes to take to her soccer practice.

You know, show up with cupcakes...she doesn't know about it...will get embarrased....

i can't resist---

After I get all the planning and partying out of the way i will be showing some sewing stuff.....promise.

Mr. I'm 7

He is 7 now. He is proud of that number. Loves to say, well...i'm 7 now. I am bigger than... I can, because I'm 7....
He got to go to Build a Bear with grandma and Grandpa on Saturday with a few other cousins, and his little sister Eliza. I tagged along and went window shopping with Jerika. Fun times.
We had a family party (ok, just us) on Sunday. Had yummy chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, and chocolate icecream....mmmmmm...sang some songs, opened a few cards and presents. The normal party stuff.
Last night we took him out to dinner. He chose Olive Garden. another mmmmmm.

we are waiting for the food. Jarom just couldn't contain himself with the wine glasses any more. He just had to give it a try :)
Then we went to BOLT. Honey kept on prompting him to go to Bedtime stories....don't ya want to go to?....how about...? He even offered him 4 bucks to not go to Bolt!!! can you believe?! Well, the newly 7 year old held strong to his convictions and we went to Bolt.

Funny- when we were in our seats and waiting for it to begin, we overheard a dad 2 rows ahead of us say.....are you sure? you don't want to change and go to Bedtime stories???? LOL
Anyways. Funny movie, great story line.....I highly recommend it.
Random leftovers:
Kids doing school this morning...i found this...suspicious!

I also figured out the Mermaid Smappy Girl. Isn't she just lovely? She is available in the shop...go take a peak or better yet, give something a home.

Just a few photos taken by Eliza...that little sneak. These keep on popping up on the camera.....

F-F-F-FRIDAY!!

yahoo!!
I don't want to leave you in the dark any longer- here are the last of the presents. I must share....

Don't get all giddy. This isn't a present. i wish. It is just one quilt that i snapped a picture of while shopping for my birthday present with mom. sooooo cute!!

ok--now the presents:

Amy- my good sewing neighbor friend ;) gave me some "Glitz and Glam" that would be the sparkly thread on the left. How nice is that? i didn't have any of that stuff. Leave it to someone else to push me past the white and black thread area. I will be trying these out soon...The plate on the right- cupcake goodness is from my mom. Cute huh?!

Here my friends is the calendar. This is from my siser. yay sister!! See all the cute pictures. She is a scrapbook computer genius. She put all of these together, one for each month and then i have this nifty little cd holder!!!!!!!

Do you see how it works? You actually turn the lid all the way the other way--you have to make it click and you think you broke it, but you didn't and now it is a picture/calendar frame.
See all of the cute month pages:
The 4 are my favoritest and they are all sideways -sorry.

What a great idea and gift!! Everyone must have one of these..Do you have a smart computer scrapbooking sister??

This is the last. The daughter made me a little quilt. i went to the store one day and she snuck on my sewing machine and made it!!
There isn't any batting inside, but she did right sides out and sewed them all together. I am going to make a little label for it so i won't ever forget. Right now it is hanging out with my little crochet mouse. This guy with a baret -no name- is 33 years old. He was given to me when i was 3 by a nurse when i was in the hospital recovering from open heart surgery. Now he has a little quilt to snuggle with in his basket next to my reading chair in my room. Love them both.
So we're done with Birthday week.
Until next year.....
you know for birthday week.
Not for postings.
Don't you worry.

Barred Rock Birthday

i just have to tell all about my weekend-

Saturday. We had tickets to go and see the Frank Loyd Wright home that Utah has!! It is even here in Bountiful. Lucky us.
I told my honey that i would take one of his homes anytime. Now, he is a drafter/designer and i said "hey, honey-- why don't you build me one of these?" Of course he names off just a few of his dislikes: I don't like cinder blocks, i don't like pink, i don't like all of the weird angles, I don't like ......you know how it goes. So i guess i won't get me a think out of the box home. :(

Front: don't know who that kid is. glass on either side. lovely view.

Rear: Lovely roof and wood trim. Check out all the little windows at the top. They let light in the bathrooms and kitchen that are in the center of the home with no windows to the exterior.

Front living room. Windows that meet in the corner...tricky! Funky ceiling.

Living room again. look at all the pink funky furniture! loved it. There were bench chairs all the way around on 2 sides of the room. Party!!!

I don't know who they are (summerfest entertainers) but check out his outfit! i couldn't resist.

heee heeee

Sunday. It was the baby brothers, aka Boots, birthday on sunday. He turned 30!!!! Everyone came to his house for b-bq dinner and cakes and salads. At the end he was handed all of his presents.
Here he is waiting for mine on his NEW lounge chair:

His wifee has an excited expression on, but really has no idea what Jerika is holding!!

And at last! The chicken!! A barred-rock chicken!! Boy were they surprised! Everyone whoooped and hollared! funny stuff.

She pooped right after this on his new lounge. Squeezed too hard i said!

They live out in the country- sort of- and he always says...i want some chickens, but.... so i thought...i can do that!!
I made a little cage/coop for her out of pvc pipe and some netting. Gave him a waterer, some chick food and told him the instructions (very easy).

Boy that was funny! Everyone says i am crazy....i don't think they really have any idea....
