I have a secret project {i know, i promised a reveal--but not quite ready---it's coming though, just be patient} .....I am wondering :
If you were to ask a craft designer interview questions what would they be?
Will you give me some questions that you have always wished someone would ask? Beyond the 'tell me your story' 'inspiration' favorites' question. Share a few or a lot with me will ya? Sometimes what i think of is something totally different than what others think....and then i think....why didn't i ask that? rats.....

Thanks a bunch girls---you really know how to help another girl out.

Play along winner

Thanks for playing along girls. it was a lot of fun to snoop in everyones side tables.....wasn't it?! The play along was fun. i think i might have another one. Sometime. Don't know when it will hit me. or you :)

Now for the winner.
I went with the one most like my own. That would be .......

She has the biggest mess...take a look at all that stuff. i say that in a nice way of course...in a way that only i can understand since that is most definitly how mine looks. I had to clear away the sewing bags in front of it before i could take my picture. I should have left them there. That would have scared people though, so i spared you.

Thanks Mandy for taking a chance and letting us all snoop and for playing along!! Let me know what you would like and it is yours!! 2 patterns for you + boy or girl for the summer traveler guy + i need your address and good stuff so you can get it all. email me.... bekntab4(at)yahoo(dot)com

That's it for the winners today.....there was a deadline for the Cranky Quilt Picture posts too....nobody posted...so the deadline went, dead. just like ken---

I will keep those little goodies and combine them for next month---last month block!!!! Catch up and win the double bootie. Flickr here. I am thinking i need to add a few pictures too. ooops. i can't even follow my own rules. don't tell.

As promised a Pattern Release today

GNOME MEADOWS

Click on picture to get it BIG

It does have some paper piecing in there--the mushrooms and gnome. Not too much. The rest is simple background blocks used as spacers. It of course has pictures in the pattern to help you along the paper piecing process and a layout for piecing the center of the quilt.

A bit of closer views:

Those green polkas are a little hard to photograph. uugghh.
A bit more info:
* baby size at 47X 47 inches
* uses
-- 2 yards background
-- 1 1/2 yards stripe
-- various fat quarters
Of course it would be available at the shop.
A peak at the quilting on the back. it was a fun one.

New Pattern----kids sized

You remember this post? The one searching for a messenger bag for a child? Well, i of course made up my own and now you can have it too!!!! how about that?!
Story Time:
I have a boy who is in Boy Scouts of course and each week he rides to the meeting on his bike. He dangles a plastic bag with his book and pencil on the handle bar and off he goes. That is not the safest thing to do, now is it? The solution? The messenger bag for kids!
It fits his book and has a few pockets inside for pencils and whatever else he 'collects' at his meetings. He is off to Cub Country and do you know what he is bringing along? Yup. His messenger bag.

The story goes on......i have a girl--she is in Daisy Girl Scouts. She goes and brings home crumpled messes of what they did. The fix---yup. the Messenger Bag.

No more stories...just questions.
Do you have a 'Collector'?
Does someone you know endanger themselves with dangling plastic bags on bike handles?
Does the little ones you love.....LOVE to hand things to you to 'keep' for them?
Are there outings you go on that you wish everyone could bring along their own stuff?
Need to carry a snack or lunch or water on a little hike?
If you have answered 'yes' to any of the questions than here is the answer for you.....

The Messenger Bag.....Kid Sized

Front view... nice big flap with Velcro closure.
The perfect sized strap.

Side View. Nice square Bottom

Fully lined and with just enough pockets.

SPECIFICS:
* 8 X 8 X 3 finished bag size
* Strap 29" long

From the pictures:
*The outside fabric was a Walmart Cheap Special.
*The inside was a heavier weight with a rubber backing. Makes the bag just stiff enough.
(If you don't use a heavier weight fabric for one piece, you could use fusible fleece to give it some stiffness)

PLUS.... Meet Jacque Ann

I picked the blanket up this weekend at a garage sale. Just knew it needed someone to give it some love. Made her from a vintage feed sack too. Her name is from the blanket of course + ann because she is raggedy ann style.

She is available also in the shop.

I have a surprise tomorrow.....a new thing called A Play Along---

you'll have to come back to see what it is all about.

Wilma and Walter Whoo Owl Pattern

Whoo Who---- is that a question?
Well, It's Wilma and Walter Whoo that's who.

They are 11" tall by 6" wide at the bottom.
Wilma has big wide eyes with batting long eyelashes and a removeable skirt! She loves to mix and match so you can make her many! Her wings are sewn to her and are secure enough to get some good flapping going on.

Walter has big wide curious eyes and wings that also flap. He loves to hang out with little boys who are adventurous and curious like him.
He of course is proper in his adventures though and sports a bow tie.

* PDF file that is emailed to you.

*They are the perfect size for play or pillow decoration.

*The pattern is in the tutorial style with pictures and step by step instructions.

*The pattern is an easy one to follow and to construct.

*Great for the first timer on patterns and stuffed animals. Nothing fancy with arms and hair....just a simple owl with lots of character!

They love to hold 'wings'

Everyone likes to see what the backsides look like. There ya go.

Quick flash and showing of the bottom closure.
Makes them sure round and puffy.

Walter is sooooo in trouble isn't he?
Want a pattern so you can make your own?
