Make it yourself- gosh

I have decided that Starting today and for one week there will be a sale!!!!
All the patterns in the shop will be discounted to ........
$ 4.00
I figured that it is getting a little bit close to Christmas and to make things a little more affordable to others and to help them use up those fabric scraps/pieces I have made the patterns cheap! That way you can
'make it yourself----gosh'
All the patterns are e-patterns. So they come right to your email! Isn't that handy like?  They will arrive there after payment and within a few hours of payment! Plenty of time to get that extra bit of sewing done.

So click on over to the shop and see what there is.....there might even be another surprise when you get there.
Want some teasers? --just in case i don't pump enough of all of my stuff your way--here is some extras!

Give me a bit of time to pick the winner and announce it! Check back later on today for the big reveal. I got stuff to do and it will just have to wait--- oh, stop complaining. you can do it. :)
oh, and thanks!
Thanks for playing along. There was a lot of good stuff out there to try and win--i appreciate you coming by and checking in on the goods and being supportive of Patchwork Posse

Skipping to a new topic...... I need some input....wanna help me out? Sure you do----yes? please?

I have a secret project {i know, i promised a reveal--but not quite ready---it's coming though, just be patient} .....I am wondering :
If you were to ask a craft designer interview questions what would they be?
Will you give me some questions that you have always wished someone would ask? Beyond the 'tell me your story' 'inspiration' favorites' question. Share a few or a lot with me will ya? Sometimes what i think of is something totally different than what others think....and then i think....why didn't i ask that? rats.....

Thanks a bunch girls---you really know how to help another girl out.

What's your name and where is your water?

So after seeing this for a little bit longer than i would really like:
ok,ok the big glass one is mine...i admit it....

I decided to take someone elses idea, and make some labels for Water Bottles!! They are refillable, and easy to grab on the go too.

We used Shrinki Dinks for the little charms dangling off of the bottles.

I did the names and then asked each one what they would like to make. Then i drew the outlines in black sharpie and they colored them in. Let's see there was a lady bug, flower, heart, doll, giraffe, skateboard, snake, dragon, duck, frog, and butterfly. Such an assortment!

What concentration, such good colorers...
Before:

After:

And After again with the jute string attachments.
Aren't they just perfect? Everyone is sooo happy with how they hung them and how they colored them...it has been the talk of the evening!

Hoping this might help the cup chase......so far so good.

Well, i decided that since i wrote up the pattern of the Pixie Doll that i should try it out.
So this afternoon i did.
This is what i ended up with: (sorry the picture is a little evening dark...yellowish...eeewww, oh and maybe a weee bit fuzzy too)

I think i might call her "Tabitha" hee hee (after my honey tab) :)

I did one thing different. I put some undies on her. I thought that might be a little cute with matching the dress and all. yeah, it is..... just had to add.....notice the fabric? again, i know, but it is so darn cute!! promise my next project will use something different.
I however in my rush or spaceyness, or whatever i didn't add her ponies at the right time. Soooooo she had a pretty plain head when i pulled her right sides out. I believe though that many cute things come from forgetfullnes!! I sewed some strips of fabric (same as the bangs) and then hand sewed them to her head at the seam. Then i put the little ribbon knots on.
I also put some flower buttons on the dress at the shoulders.

For some reason or another her head is never perfect either. I must have a hard time following my own drawn lines!
I guess this, you might say,
that is what gives her personality.
she is never the same each time.
She is ever the evolver of your own mind!
i love that!

For those who have subscribed to be a tester i have one more hint: use a small stitch. Something like a 2- 2 1/4. that way the stuffing and seams don't show as much.

If there are any more "takers" on that let me know!

Now, where is my cup???

The Allergy Fog

I am not sure what to think of this "allergy" that i have. It gives me feavers, headaches, and all that good old fashion "luggies" (sorry if this is gross).... Really though, it isn't nice. Can an allergy mutate? I think that this is what has happened.

With all the fog going on i haven't done much sewing.

We are packing- to go on another camping trip!! yay. We are going up to Idaho to Rock City. Should be fun--i really don't know about that, haven't ever been there. We will see... hmmm..

We were lucky this weekend- We got ourselves a pop-up tent trailer!! pictures later-sorry. Nothing special, something cheap. But it is clean, compfy, and sort of pinky too. Now listen here, i'll have everyone know that this is the Honey's doing. He complained about camping last time (i really do help set up and stuff--so it wasn't because i didn't do anything). He has come to the realization that he likes camping, but not really in a tent. So, we have gotten one for ourselves. Thanks President Bush for that little extra money!!! So off we go to see if it really works great or what. (who am i kidding, of course it will be great!)

I needed of course to show off a few things before we took off. Now, a few days ago- in the middle of the day (naptime obviously) I happened to walk into the living room and caught this:

So I guess first: that explains the whole --the front room basket of plants is dying, why? maybe it's time to get rid of them.... and second: she really must love the outdoors- don't ya think?

I had to give these guys a formal welcoming too. they are all "square pegs". They are to go with the kids when we travel this summer. They are thier trades. Now, i am missing one--he has mysteriously trapped himself in the trailer outside....he was a lion, but somehow he looks just like Mr. Tumnis in Narnia---just wait, you'll see.

The first is a Bunny, then a Kangaroo + a joey in her pocket, and then a dog. Aren't they so funny? The bunny is a little bigger than the others. Didn't really pay attention to the cutting i guess. I started also with just doubling the fleece on the legs, but the last 2 kanga, and doggie, i stuffed. They are around 4 X 5- so not that big, easy to pack and cary. I think though that i have them down, and "get" how to do them. Man these things are just fun to make!!

Here is their backsides. They really are one of a kinds. So far everyone likes them---the kanga and doggie haven't been seen yet. what a nice suprise in the car when traveling don't ya think?

I do have some other great news:
Check it out! She got her apron ---and bonus...she likes it! How fantastic is that?!

I need to go and mop the floors ---since everyone is asleep--- and finish packing all the "stuff"....we'll see ya all when we return =)

wax on, wax off....
