Dressing up:--lucky for us we have an extra large yard that the honey likes to dump piles of dirt and rocks on. perfect picture stuff don't ya think?

and then a nice ham dinner with just our selves and watching movies together. Just each other--kind of nice sometimes...hmmm

Only in UTAH!!!

After 1 day of super warm weather - eliza got just a bit of sun burn on her arms...to 2 days of raining and now a day of snowing. Lucky for the kids there is a nice full water run in the ditch. Perfect for ditch boats...even if you are in your shorts.

Don't forget Thursday is CRANKY QUILT DAY!!! I will be sharing the pattern for the Basket Block.

Easter Dress #2

I finished #2 today.
Mccall's 3623 pattern just for those sewers who will be asking.
Great EASY!!! pattern. The V in the front is a bit lower than Jerika is comfortable with so i put a little insert in. I think that maybe a different fabric would have been cuter, but this works.

I also added a tie to make it just a bit tighter too. Overall Cute, Easy, Quick, and happy it is done.

After dinner we made chicks and their nests. Rice krispies, egg, and peep. Not as cute as the picture on the internet, but still yummy.

**Just an additional note of ramblings... People where are the treats? Where is anything? I have been such a procrastinator lately. waiting, waiting, then finally going and everything is gone! who? what? where? why?I mean, i am in a panic anyways because i waited...then nothing at the store...another panic!

Check this out: target. nothing. walmart. 4 choc. bunnies. 1 bag of marshmellow eggs. finally- all a dollar. just a little. 1 box of peeps taken from a gift basket- yes, i asked and they said it was ok since 1/2 the stuff was already missing- hole in the wrap. and some little choc bunnies, eggs, and random hard candy chics. there was not one bag of Jelly Beans to be found. Who is hording all this stuff?

Easter Dress

I finished one!!! yay for me!!
This is Eliza's. I didn't have enough fabric to do a real fancy dress, so i looked around-- on the internet of course...blogland. oooooo. anyways. I found a wonderful site. This is a Smarty Pant Girl. She gets an award. Just Tutes. She has wonderful tutorials, patterns for kids clothing. This is where i found the top pattern. It is the Peasant Girl shirt. I didn't put elastic in the sleeves - eliza doesn't like that- and i put a skirt on the bottom.

I added a crocheted lace on the bottom that i have had for a bit and a tie at the waist. It has the little bustle thing in the front. Eliza kept saying that she her friend has the same kind of dress and she has this big round thing on the front. she wouldn't give up so i made the flower. It is pinned in place so i can move it around or take it off if i want. I used the lazy hem using bias tape i made with the blue fabric on the sleeves.

Not sure what to do with the older one- jerika. I am sure something will come up.

Today the kids are going to their cousins home to play for a little bit. That leaves me here....alone...i could sew, but i think that i am going to attack the toy room and see what kind of damage i can do. That would be on getting rid of things without the 'keepers' around. There is a lot of 'kept' stuff. I even made a list of things to do....shelves, books, toys, clothes...the usuall congested, unruly, piled, outgrown........stuff.

Easter Sunshine

Wow--- the weather is great! finally. We have really had a heavy winter this year, and it was starting to take it's toll. Everyone was going stir crazy in the house. Today, they were able to get their chalk out and have some fun outside.



I don't know if you can really see it so i will explain: oldest daughter has drawn a mermaid with a horse, and check out that fancy border aroun it all!

Littlest daughter is making suns, Middle brother is drawing a ship. He later drew two dudes sword fighting.




This little man has worked hard on his superman, and cyclops (x-men) dudes. The superman has heat rays coming from his eyes.

I am oh....so....proud!

ok. back to sewing items.





i up-cycled this scarf. I have two of them...they would be identical. My oldest is modeling them for us. They will be for sale on Etsy soon. This is really kind of fun. I have a new outlook on old items now. I look at scarves now thinking---can it be a purse? oooohhhhhhh....

I did dye some more fabric and a doll body. They are currently drying out on the back porch. Poeple aren't the only ones enjoying this good weather!
