Annual Quilt Run Around

I think that is what i am going to call it....our annual Quilt Run around. It actually just involves me and a little group of 9 gals who get together every once in awhile to do some sewing, laughing, sharing, eating, and enjoying of each other--and their sewing goodies.

So Wednesday was the annual run around to the springville art museum to the quilt show. Then off we went to a small number of quilt stores and lunch, and present exchanging. We had a few obstacles to get by, but after that...nothing but fun.

Big 4 lane dump truck dump part. For Kennecot Copper! This thing was HUGE!!!

this is the torn up bridge that takes us to the museum. no worries...we'll just wander town trying to find a road to it for 15 minutes!

Of course i will share what we saw. It felt like last year there was more, but who's complaining?

Quilts:

This was for a married couple with a round bed. huh?

This ones name.....in the leafy treetops. it's on the brain girls...and apparently spreading. :)

I have this book with the pattern. should do it.

Look closely....these are NOT pinwheels!! They are log cabin blocks made to look like a pinwheel. Why?!

Shop hop quilt. Super cute!

Quilting Inspiration:

For some reason the labels were great! Do you read them when you go to show? You totally should. There is some good stuff in those little explanations.

This label goes the to the grandmothers garden above. incredible don't you think?

Pictures of our presents....remember this? It was for an exchange. Sort of christmas in July thing. Here is our presents that we got:

Pictures of Us:

Here is all of us!!! we had so much fun!!!

Goodies I got:

Same pile, it was just too long to get into one photo. I didn't go that crazy.

ok. after loading all of the pics and stuff i am tired!! so i think that they 2 drawings going on will wait until monday. how about that? no complaints now, i'm in charge here. So get on over there and put your name in so you can win.

Springville Getaway

Yesterday was sooooo fantastic!! the weather was perfect, the company was terrific, the gazing on quilts was inspirational, and the buying was under control (sort of)!!

Everyone needs a day like that every once in awhile.

I am taking the pic, but look at how cute everyone else is!

We went straight to Springville museum to gaze at all the quilts. There was such a nice display and everything was really fun to look at. There were a few that were the same, but overall there was a wonderful variety.

Hold on for a long post, but it will be worth it.

Chocolate treats.....nead i say more?

my mother liked this one. funny, i could see it in her house.

my mom liked this one too.

the group of gals that i went with really liked this one. simple, sweat, and easy to do. we are doing a trade with everyone next year. fun stuff!!!

Lots of applique this year. only one word...wow!

Check out the circular bethlehem. wool- dyed in jello...mmmmmmm.

crazy applique on miniture scale. the blocks are 5"!! yikes. but blow this baby up and find out all the little sayings that your mother used to tell you. there are some "goodies" in there!

some apron inspiration!

There were a few Dear Jane quilts also. These in person are overwhelming!! i really wish i would do one of these. haven't for some reason started........it's a big commitment.

dark background. fantastic.

Hmmm thought i had the other one with all the edging blocks. none. sorry!

There were a lot that used teenie-tinnie blocks.

close-up. the 9 patches were around 2". this one has a great story but i can't remember exactly. you can read it on julie's blog. (she was there) hi julie :) great day huh?!

a very simple quilt ladder. we will make these at one of our meetings too. we all agreed!

Here are the goodies:

i found this bird stuff awhile ago at the machine quilting expo in the spring. i haven't seen it since. i finally found it!! so i got some for sashings and the bird one is for a wide border.....now to find a pattern.

Here is some that i found that was just cute!! these were 1.25 a fat too. not tooo bad.
Well, after the good food, 5 quilt shops, and frienship and don't forget the free taste of fudge afterwords it was a great day.
