Happy 1st day of AUTUMN

So i thought i would play along with polka dot creations. She is having an Autumn party. Share how you are celebrating the 1st day of autumn. Well, I have to admit that i don't usually celebrate this day. I love the summer time. The sun. The vacations. The night star watching. The lazy days. Autumn---not any of that. Less sun. Bottling everything. Worrying about the garden. Prepare for winter sort of stuff. Not to mention the 2 seasons of clothes in the drawers. Short, pants, sweatshirts...and now begins the ....socks!! everywhere they will be found!! ughhh.

Sorry- moving on.

I love to copy-cat others. So of course i couldn't miss this one! The pumpkin muffins over on Whimsy Love's blog. She shares it---I do it. Thanks Whimsy Love!! They just popped out of the oven and were quickly eaten up by me and the kidlings. YUMMY. We of course had no cream cheese in the house and i looked at the little container of Ricotta cheese and thought...why not? so i used that instead. the taste isn't as yummy as a cream cheese would be. But really it was still good...plus no one said that is tasted funny, or that something wasn't quite right.

Then I thought that i would get a head start on dinner for tonight. This is the perfect weather for a good 'ol crockpot
TACO SOUP
Ingredients:
1 pd hamburger (brown it with some onions)
1 can corn
1 large can kidney beans
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can diced tomatoes with garlic, or parsley or something else spicy
2 cans of jalapeno tomatoes (get the mild, or hot...whatever your liking)
2 pgks of taco seasoning

Really you could add anything that you love in your soups too. This is very forgiving and good. Just open and dump it all in the crockpot. Turn on high and by dinner time it will be bursting with goodness. You can treat it like a taco too. Put sour cream on top, and grated cheese, some more taco sauce if you would like....whatever. Then either use corn chips to dip or some french bread. I have leftover garlic bread so that is what we are using tonight.

It's also the time of ....we are so tired of sandwiches!! isn't there anything else? So here we have lunch pizzas. you need english muffins, a small can of tomato paste, 4 pieces of peperoni per half of muffin and a slice of cheese. Spread, layer (add olives, mushrooms...ect) and then broil for 4 min. until melting and yummy. Quick and easy i tell ya....

Yesterday I did a bit of sewing. I made a few composition book covers. They are going into the shop today .....hopefully!! I have also worked on a few things for the sscs by chookyblue It is secret, so i will share when i finish the whole package. That might be a bit. Maybe just when i finish this stuff. That will be quicker.

Thank you for stopping by! I love your pictures of what you did today. I wish I had been more bake-y and cook-y but I was up to my elbows in Quiet City details. :) English muffin pizzas are a staple around here too. Might have some tomorrow, in fact!

Thanks again! Good luck on the contest! xoxo

Oh such a good point about having two seasons of clothes in the drawers. I don't know about where you are, but for most of September, we wear two seasons of clothes on any given day! I'm in socks & a sweatshirt this morning, but by midday, I'm going to want to be in shorts, I bet.
