3 Seasons in 3 Days

Welcome to Stiener Lake. The boy scout camp in the Uinta mountains.

So talk about living in the fast lane! 3 seasons in 3 days.
First was the summer season. Beautiful weather when we showed up on friday and on saturday. Clear skies, light breaze, enough sun to get that little pink kiss on our cheeks. Just fan-tab!!!

Saturday: Summer
We went out on the lake,

fished a little, sat by the fire, laughed- giggled, told good stories.... you know the usual camping stuff.
Of course it was just warm enough for the kids to think that they could go swimming. They really are nuts....so they gathered themselves together, put their life vests on and found someone to paddle them out to the middle of the lake and they got dropped off.
they all swam back to the side where all the adults were waiting with clapping and chearing for them. Now, let me tell you- i did not go in--this water is COLD!!! it is one of the top coldest lakes in Utah. This is quite an accompishment for anyone to do- let alone 9-11 year olds.

giving the thumbs up- you can't see them shivering, and whimpering very well. They were quite proud of themselves.

The little girls were "tango-tangoing" while waiting for the older ones to arrive.

We were able to squeeze in some bow and arrow showings. The kids did great, and the adults did too.
Sunday: Spring/Fall

Notice the clothing change?! Here are all the kids all lined up to go "leech fishing". They each had a stick with a piece of hot dog on the end of it..... mmmmmm.......

and all of you know that there is one child in the family who is the "clumpster" as i call him. if he can fall, he will, jump- he's there...get the point. well he decided to test his luck and find his own piece of land to fish from.......suprisingly he jumped and hopped just fine!! yay.

Sorry to report that there was no leaches to be found. They are there, but it had rained and so they had all disapeared. Not warm enough. darn it!! the kids had a blast though.

Jarom had made this boat and brought it up with him. It floated great!! All the trader guys for the swap are taking their ride. They will be leaving us this week. It will be tough for some of them. i just know it. there might be some "twins" being made this week.

Saturday night- lightning, thunder, and some hail!!
Sunday- Winter

All night it slushy rained/snow. Enough to wake up with a good 3" on the ground and covering everything!! notice the clothing change again (we only had some sandals with socks :(
Check out these little guys...funny...
Well- We had a bunch of fun. Way to end the tripping season for this year. We've had a great one that is for sure!
I did a bit of sewing on my Dear Jane blocks, but there was an accident with the hot chocolate and some got a little wet. haven't accessed the damage yet and will report later. Let me tell you thought that needle turn is truly a talent and that hopefully by the end of all this- I too will have it. These first blocks might be re-done....they really are kind of scary oooooooooooooooo
