I am looking into some new options for my here blog. I am needing some external answers from all of you out there. Will you take the time to look at the questions and give me some answers? Much appreciated...truly.

* What company do you go through for your blog? give me some names of those companies that let you have a blog, domain name and free templates.

* How much do you pay? Per month? year? What plans do you like the best?

* Where are some good templates for website pages?

* Anyone have an e-commerce site? that is really what i would like to have to. What company do you use?

*How do you change a website to an e-commerce one? easy, complicated?

* How much per month for what plan? is it worth it?

If you have ANYTHING else that you would like to share please do!!! I need some help!!!
I have looked at oodles of things, online, in the library, read some books....but really what i would like is user feedback.
What works best? worst? SOOOO worth the time, or not.

Give me your best shot!! You can make a comment here or if you prefer- email me whosiesandwhatnots (at)yahoo(dot)com subject computer help....or something like that.

How about i trade a little info for a little PRIZE!!!!

I'm afraid I can't really help you, since I don't use a standard Blog provider (like blogger, typepad, or those kind of sites). Instead of those, my husband build my site, using Umbraco. If you would like an Umbraco site, I am sure I couls help you out a bit more with information on that subject, including with finding free templates, but I guess that's not what you are looking for?

Oh my, I think this is a pretty useless comment this way :-)

hmm I just use blogger but I do sell my work on Etsy. MY site is AshleyAmandaDesigns.etsy.com It cost 20c to list an item for 4 months and then when you make a sale there is a 3.5% sales fee. You can then use your blog to promote your shop.

You may already know all of that but just in case you didn't.

As i'm still getting used to blogging I am still using a very basic form of blogspot, so am no help at all to you i'm afraid. I did used to use Microsoft Frontpage to edit a website i used to do, and hosted it through an online website host, was pretty easy, think it cost me £25 a year including my domain name.
Just want to wish you good luck on your quest! x

Hi Becky,

This is Cindy and let me tell you what Marilyn uses :)

Word Press for Marilyn's blog and it's free.

For Marilyn's website we use Joomila which is also free but you will need someone to set it up initially and we can recommend someone great. There are several templates you can use.

I'm curious what is a e-commerce site? Do i need this? If by e-commerce you mean a website and/ or blog that you can sell on both blog and website I recommended allow this.

TTFN,

Cindy

My website is hosted thru hostmonster.com (prepaid 3 years for $180?? or was it $120?) and I use (free) Word Press templates for the blog and for our photo galleries. I imagine there are Word Press templates or plug-ins that would allow you to set the website up for e-commerce transactions. Hostmonster is more geared toward commercial websites, but it has worked just fine for personal use.

Did you see the info provided by Bee Square fabrics about setting up an online shop? http://beesquarefabrics.blogspot.com/

I'm sure you can adapt her info to selling products versus fabrics.
