Cleaner than clean

I ran out of laundry soap yesterday and knowing that wednesday is wash day i would need some soap that i made some. now, i have had the stuff to make it for awhile..but have waited for the other stuff to run out.....and i am just a little hesitant on going all out and doing it myself.

The one that i used was the powder one. I was going to make the gel/wet one, but i didn't have that big of a bucket and such soooo i went with the powder.
With the un-approving glare from the honey as i am grating Fels-Naptha soap in the food processor---i mean really, it's soap!! i choped up the soap.
Because this was my grandmas that i took when we moved her out of her home and it was totally hard it ground up perfectly! it was a fine powder and gave me the sneezes. just a hint- 1 bar = 2 cup grated.
Here is the recipe for the dry one:
2 cups Fels Naptha Soap (finely grated -

1 cup Washing Soda

1 cup Borax
Mix well and store in an airtight plastic container.
Use 2 tablespoons per full load.

So even though it was monday night and not wednesday i couldn't help myself and went for it....i did a load of laundry. I did the towels---thought that was a good start. They came out just fine. No spots, no funny smells, squeeky clean as can be. It works. I will more than likely be making more as needed. The Borax and washing soda goes a long way.......f o r e v er .....
